BF after implants?

Is there anyone who has experience of breastfeeding after breast implants?
I got implant over the muscle after baby no.2 (thinking I wouldn’t be having anymore) but now pregnant with baby 3 and although I didn’t BF either of my first two I really want to BF this time but unsure if milk will come through, just wondering of experiences of others?

@am3017 I didn't have any success with over the muscle. I did get milk but my supply was minimal. Other friends have been able to though, I'm pregnant again now and planning to give it another go. I don't know about you but my boobs didn't grow in size during pregnancy and they looked pretty much the same other than slightly more veiny.

@Nmvasey85 thank you for replying I have heard it works for some and not others, I wonder if there’s specific reasons it wouldn’t work or just by chance.
I regret not trying with my first two before having implants but will try anyway and see if I can or not, my boobs have gotten slightly bigger and definitely more veiny but before implants when I was pregnant my boobs only got slightly bigger.

Hi .. I breast fed after implants over muscle. No issue with milk supply. If you didn't lose sensation in nipples that's a good sign you may be able to, it also depends on if any damage was done to milk ducts during surgery. I work with a surgeon and he advises there's a risk that BF may not be possible after implants but each patient is different so you may be fine. Mine where huge whilst BF though and now not as perky as they were before just like natural breasts go I suppose, so that may be something you may want to take into account if you have only recently paid out for surgery.

@Tiredmummy201 Hi, I’m sure I do remember my surgeon at the time of my booking consultation mentioning implants can cause problems for BF when he was ensuring I had all the information before going ahead (at the time didn’t think I would ever need to consider it because was sure I was done😂) but I have heard of some being able to like yourself and some not so can only try and see!
Thank you for letting me know, I did only get them 2 years ago however I do plan to get them redone in a couple of years as I wish I had gone with a different size (have told OH for my 30th😅)

Yes it's definitely worth a try, I actually only lasted 8 weeks but that was because my DD drank so fast she'd down whole bottles in under a minute my poor nipples couldn't cope 😂. But nothing to do with implants. Good luck 🤞

Not me but two of my friend did. One BF twins. Good luck

@Tiredmummy201 it’s still great you got to do it for a while, I don’t mind if it’s not for long I just hope to be able to at least experience a little.

@sawnotseen thats great to hear, fingers crossed 🤞🏼
