Clear blue ovulation test

I have a 28 day cycle but it can vary 1-3 days. My period is usually a couple days early or on time. Very rarely late. I have been tracking ovulation since cd7 as instructed and for the last 4 days I have been getting a flashy smiley face which is great but now it's cd 16. I was meant to ovulate on cd15 according to my apps. I've ran out of testing sticks and I feel as tho if I purchase more I'm going to continue to see flashy smiley face and waste my money because these tests are expensive. I have all these questions in my head as in maybe I didn't ovulate this cycle or my lh surge was missed or was too low. Do you think I could get the cheap ovulation tests and see if they show me if I'm ovulating? Everyone says good things about clear blue but as of now I don't know what to think.

I’ve heard a lot of bad things about the CB ovulation tests. I used easy@home tests and the Premom app, it was really easy to use and you got to see the lines changing.

@PickledScrump Yes I've just ordered the easy@home test. Going to use them from now on. But I just took the clear blue stick out and can tell that the line is getting darker everyday. I'm guessing maybe I need a day or two more to ovulate? Who knows? These things are tricky but I definitely feel like the money is not worth it. Costs me more than pregnancy tests

I used to use easy@home then just used a clearblue when I thought I was getting an obvious dark line on the LH strip test. Although I usually knew I was going to ovulate due to CM changes and bloating!

This happened to me last cycle, constant flashing smileys, no peak.
and I was fortunate to have conceived during the same cycle.
I have iwatch which showed my drop in body temp which is how I worked out when I ovulated.

I ordered more lol even tho I told myself I wouldn't. I just wanted to see how reliable clear blue ovulation tests are and as this is my first cycle trying I expect I may need to use more ovulation tests till I get my bfp. The clear blue gave me a static smiley face the next day so it does work! (At least for me) but I'll be trying easy at home for my next cycle if I don't get pregnant and comparing them
