Empty sac at 12 weeks

Good afternoon everyone.

I had brown spotting for a few days so booked a private scan to check all was ok - she found an empty sack and no baby.

At 6 weeks I had a scan due to spotting and baby peanut was there with a heartbeat and visible fetal pole.

I was absolutely gobsmacked to see a complete empty sac today considering what I saw 6 weeks ago. I am so so heartbroken after 8 years TTC.

But I am confused. I haven't passed any blood or clots etc. had no pain. She reckons the foetus didn't carry on growing past my 6 week scan and just "disintegrated" into nothing..

I saw the empty sac on the screen and instantly knew what was happening. My eyes were playing games with me because on the right side of the screen when she was measuring the sac I saw a baby shape. But i guess that's what I wanted to believe.

Has anyone else seen the baby at an early stage and then it had just gone by their 12 week scan?

I just want to know I'm not alone

So sorry OP. I'm sure you're not alone. I wasn't innyour situation. But i had a blighted ovum and a pregnancy where the sac was visible very late and then passed on its own. I am now pregnant again, close to 30w and praying to hold my baby girl by the end of this year.

Hi similar happened to me 6 years ago. I thought I was 12 weeks pregnant went for my first scan and the sac was there but no baby. I hadn’t been for any scans previous to it as I had no concerns and I still very much felt pregnant.
