Hi! I'm due March 21 😊Just had a 16 week scan today showing all ok with the little one. How has your pregnancy been so far?

newmomintown · 09/10/2023 14:19

Hey! maybe we can be like baby pen pals ha! it would be great to have someone to talk to throughout pregnancy etc! I'm tired all the time, wake up 3 times for a wee each night and i get so full quickly but starving really quickly too! i cant complain though, ive had no sickness so im classing it as a good pregnancy so far! Hows yours been? x

@newmomintown Yes I also get the frequent peeing! I will wake up at least one every night and always around 3am. I also have to watch my carb intake as my early GTT test wasn't great so on one side, no treats anymore but on the other side I may not put on as much weight. I am also very tired and have low energy. What has been bad though since the 2nd trimester that didn't happen at the first is constipation and bloating, although bloating has eased a bit now that I can't eat so much!
I just can't wait to feel the baby. So far I don't think I have felt anything.

Hey! I’m also the 21st March 😊. We had a private scan yesterday and found out we have a little girl on board - all so exciting!

TTCbaby2023 · 10/10/2023 12:18

@WholeZebra Congratulations!! We found out the sex when we did the NIPT at 12 weeks. We are also having a girl 😊

@TTCbaby2023 How come you had an early GTT scan? I have mine in January, ill be 28 weeks then. Im so concerned ill have an overweight baby because im overweight, my sister in law had a 10lb2 baby 😳 im too trying to eat healthier and move more, im already a big girl and absolutely do not eant to pile on the weight. If i hear "you're eating for 2, eat what you want" i may scream when im trying to be healthier for my baby 😂 ive started having really had lower back pain since last weekend, its getting worse now. I think its pelvic girdle pain so ill be mentioning it to my consultant on Thursday.

@WholeZebra congratulations! Its nice to have others to chat to when we are all due the same time. Im not finding out the sex so all neutral colours for me! X

@newmomintown I had it early due to both my parents having type 2 diabetes and maybe because of my age too. Good they did it early and detected it. Yes it's true, eating for 2 is a myth. You don't need many more calories during pregnancy but what matters more is having a varied and balanced diet. They told me that whilst I can't binge on carbs, it's also important to not restrict them too much so as to not hinder baby's growth. They need carbs for good development. She told me between 100g and 150g a day spread out throughout the day is ideal for blood sugar level. What helps me too is walking, moving for at least 15 min after meals. My main issue is my fasting blood sugar which is slightly elevated.
I only have back pain when bloating is in full swing so usually in the evening but had all sorts of twinges from time to time.
