I've literally just taken a pg test and it's 100% positive . I have 2 children already but I smoked occasionally during those pregnancies and I really really don't want to do that again. I felt immense guilt and anxiety and I really want 2 do what's best for my baby. Can anyone tell me any hints or tips on how to just stop right now ? Thank u x

Have you asked your gp for support?
The nhs has lots of stop-smoking aids and resources available.

Congratulations!

I was smoking occasionally up until the moment I found out I was pregnant and then just stopped. I don't recall having any problems quitting smoking - I was so pleased with my long-awaited BFP that I was really focused on doing the right things health-wise for the baby's benefit. And to be honest, I always regretted being a smoker and it was the perfect opportunity to quit for good. I'm so glad I did.

I don't have any tips for you really, other than to say you CAN do it. Your family will thank you 😊

I personally found that morning sickness helped immensely with giving up. Even if I wanted to, I couldn’t have stomached it and the cravings went after I knew I wouldn’t enjoy it.

I’d do your best to go cold turkey, definitely reach out to the gp for help. You’ve done it before, you can do this 💪🏻

Go to your GP - there are loads of possibilities and they will help you find the right one. You can do this.

Yes, stop cold turkey or you'll give yourself permission to smoke all through like last time. Cold turkey for smoking is a silly term as it implies there is some physical risk to stopping without tapering like there is with opiates whereas there really is no negative impact of stopping at all.
get the kindle app and download Alan carr easy way to stop smoking and read it today. It's very short but it will help. By the end of it you won't even want to smoke!

speaking as an ex smoker!!

You might not even need to see your GP. Many CCGs have self-referral stop smoking programs. Google your area and see if they do.

I went cold turkey when I found out I was pregnant. I had been smoking for 11 years before that. It was a little tough at first as the motivation was different, but I easily forgot about not smoking and I’m smoke free 6 months later! You can do it x

I’ve had friends who’ve had huge success with hypnotism.
