Hi

I went for a preterm check up they said my cervix is funnelling and booked me in for a cervix stitch.

It's 15mm and I'm 19 weeks taking progesterone too.

Any hopeful stories please as I had a miscarriage before.

So so scared. I've limited my movement and put myself on bed rest.

But since my op 4 days ago I haven't been to the bathroom - constipated.

Thanks
Xx

Surgery/the drugs tend to leave you constipated, and not moving about much means things don’t get moving also.
Fybogel is safe to take daily in pregnancy, I’d get some dates and have a four or five of those daily as well. You definitely don’t want to be straining and end up causing piles.

I hope things go smoothly from now on for you.

Hi OP, please join the Incompetent Cervix UK group on Facebook. There is a wealth of knowledge and experience on there and lots of happy stories, but also lots of support and handholding along the way, especially in the pregnancy subgroup. I know it’s a scary and uncertain time but with a stitch and progesterone, the odds are very much in your favour.

My own story is complex so I won’t share it now but I had a stitch and I’m not sure my DD6 would be here without guidance from the group.

Good much with the rest of the pregnancy xx

Re the constipation, that will be the effect of the progesterone I’m afraid. Ask the doctor what you can take, you definitely don’t want to be straining with a stitch in.
