Test line getting fainter! Help!

Hi all. New user here! I was totally lost on the Internet until I found this forum.
For context I have a history of recurrent miscarriage so I'm a bit of a wreck.
Found out we were pregnant again on 03/09/23. Dye stealer test, symptoms hit me straight away at 6 weeks... very intense!
Fast forward to week 8 and symptoms are fading as is the line on the test. I thought that was it, another loss.
But at the scan a very alive baby measuring 8 weeks and 2 days was just chilling.
My next scan is on 09/10/23 but my symptoms are still fading and the line (yes I keep testing!) is not getting any darker (same brand of tests and always first wee of the day)
Does this mean I have low HCG? Or does it mean I'm miscarrying?

Has anyone had this? x

You need to stop testing and find a way to manage your anxiety! Google the Hook Effect. Pregnancy tests aren’t designed to be used in this way.

Congratulations 😊

Yes - stop testing!

Didn't want to read and run!

First - massive congratulations! 👶
My tests never got darker and I had to force myself to stop testing (DH refused to buy anymore ect). It was hard at first but it gets easier over a day or so!
I also had no symptoms so that didn't help but I'm currently 26 w + 4 with a very active baby kicking away 🥰
Not long to go until your next scan so try and focus on the positives until then!

Again, congratulations!!

Thank you all for replying 🥰 I did stop testing but it's just so hard. I've seen so many lines fade before the onset of a miscarriage, I just want to be prepared. I don't trust my body at all!
Scan is tomorrow and I'm trying to hold it together until then. Not feeling nauseous anymore, breasts aren't as full and my tummy isn't as firm.
Not feeling very hopeful 😞

Hi lovefromplum.
What was your outcome of the scan? I hope all is well and things progressing for you.
I just read your thread as I'm experiencing a similar situation, strong line on test at 4 weeks, much weaker line on test at 6 weeks. No real symptoms except some cramping but also spotting brown-ish blood hence taking another test. Could mean either for me, all okay or signs of a potential miscarriage. Its the not knowing....

rainbowstardrops · 09/11/2023 10:21

I hope the scan was positive @lovefromplum Flowers

Hi all. I'm so sorry I went quiet. We had 2 miscarriage scares and I've really been trying to keep my anxieties manageable. Thank you for all your kind words and advice. We are currently 16 weeks and 3 days with our baby and beyond happy to have made it this far!
Hopeful for a healthy baby in May 🥰
