How many newborn items

Hello!

How many newborn sized items did you buy? How many sleepsuits and how many bodysuits in newborn?

Then how many did you have at first (ready for babies arrival) did you have of 0-3m?

Thanks so much

3 of everything in newborn/first size and 3 of everything in 0-3. Once baby is here and you know their size you can always get more.

I'd say seven of everything. If your baby is anything like mine, between being sick and nappy explosions, you could go through four or five suits in an afternoon. Other days a suit would last the whole day, but on bad days I was glad to have plenty of clothes. You could obviously get by with fewer suits if you're happy to be doing lots of laundry, but even with around ten of everything I was still washing baby clothes almost daily just to keep on top of everything.

Also, I bought newborn and 0-3. Baby only fitted 0-3 around the one month mark despite being over 8lbs.

I'd agree with 7-10 of everything, in each size. It's so hard to know what you'll need though so I'd keep it cheap and/or second hand for newborn especially. In my experience, DD1 was small and wore newborn clothes for a month and 0-1 month clothes for another month before she fitted 0-3. But DD2 was a big baby (9lb) and was too big for newborn from birth!

It's hard because you never know how big your newborn will actually be! My son went straight into 1-3 months clothing because he was a big baby so he never needed any of the newborn stuff! My daughter was too small for the newborn stuff I bought and I had to get preemie/small baby stuff for her!
I suggest not spending too much on newborn sizes. Get more bigger sizes as any baby you have will need those eventually. But just buy a couple of newborn items until the baby is born and you know what size it will need!

I had my baby last week, my son was 10lb so I expected another big baby and didn't buy any newborn sizes. This one popped out dinky so my partner just nipped to Tesco, bought 6 sleep suits and 6 vests and that's done us the last week, just lots of washing! I think it'll only be another week and baby will be in up to one month bits so I wouldn't buy lots/spend a lot.

I'd rather a bit more then less - as I don't want to be sat waiting for the washing machine!

I got a few 5 packs from hnm of different vests and body suits . Kept 'nice' outfits to a minimum 2/3 :)

I bought a big bundle of newborn vests etc on Vinted for less than a fiver, then have a few hand me down ones too - then an absolute deluge of 0-3m hand me downs.

I figure they will definitely go through the latter but only possibly the former.

With nappies, we got told that they build up to a full pooing schedule over the first week, so we figured a 20 pack of each size 1/2 was fine to start.

Thanks all! Have been searching ebay/vinted for second hand as seems silly to buy new for sizes I may not need! Thanks again
