Went to my 36 week midwife appointment today as I am 36 + 5. my blood pressure took a highest reading of 137/107. My midwife sent me straight to the hospital where it was again 143/100 another reading at 151/91. They’ve gave me some blood pressure tablets and told me to go back in the morning.

If it hasn’t come down tomorrow are they likely to induce me? I just want to feel abit more prepared if it is a possibility as I am basically full term now…

Have they checked your urine for protein? If they suspect pre-eclampsia the I would imagine they may want to induce you. I would certainly make sure you have your hospital bag with you. Hope all is well with you both.

Yes I suspect they will check baby, on monitor and a scan then either take you for a section or induce you depending on risk to you and baby.

I had 3 time weekly monitoring from 28 weeks till 37 weeks for pre eclampsia, baby was fine just high blood pressure and protein in my urine but as soon as I hit 37 weeks to they induced me.

Good luck, hope you are not in too much discomfort!

Sounds like the start of hypertension. I had this with my first around the same stage and managed to avoid an induction, however, could not labour in the birthing centre and had to be on the labour ward. My baby was born at 40+2 weeks.

Second time, my BP spiked earlier and I was induced at 38 weeks.

Pregnant again and on aspirin to help reduce my BP and will be given a monitor for at home/close eye during labour.

Sending you a big hug and hope all is ok 😊 Are you feeling well in yourself?
