Hi all :)
im expecting identical twins girls they have their own sac but sharing placenta, I’m 19 weeks on Thursday was just wondering if any other mumma’s are expecting twins I’m finding it hard to gel with the single pregnancys as with twins is different pregnancy as I’m having so many appointments and scans.

this is my 3rd pregnancy I already have two girls age 10 & 6. This pregnancy has by far been my worst I’m suffering bad with HG was hospitalised at 11 weeks been on anti sickness tablets since I can’t be without them or back to throwin up 247.

hope to hear from some twin mummy’s :) thank you.

I’m a new mum to identical twin boys which are my first
i had scans every two weeks and they were planned to be born at 36wks but decided they didn’t want to wait and was born at 33wks

Hello!
I am expecting twins, and am 18 weeks.
First pregnancy and was a huge shock! Got 20 week scan in a few weeks and can't wait to find out the gender. Did you have an early scan to find out? Apparently after the 20 week scan I then have a scan every 4 weeks - they have 2 sacs and 2 placentas so might be a little bit different to your pathway with identicals.

BraveHeart91 · 04/10/2023 19:15

@Twimum23 hey! Congratulations so what twin pregnancy did you have did they share placenta ?

im currently seeing consultant every 2 weeks and being scanned for ttts.

@STH1988 hey! I found out what I was having with my consultant at 16 weeks and he confirmed again yesterday they were girls I’m 19 weeks tomorrow. How are you finding the pregnancy? I’m absolutely crapping myself I’ve only had singleton pregnancy’s.

@BraveHeart91 yeah they both shared the placenta and the theater team said it was very rare as my second twin came out in the sac which they don’t see very often. Had scans every two weeks never once found signs of ttts

BraveHeart91 · 05/10/2023 07:52

@Twimum23 so I’ve got same pregnancy as you did are the twins home? Was everything ok during birth? I’m having a caesarean never had one before I’m absolutely so scared!

@BraveHeart91 Ahhh I haven't seen the consultant since 14 weeks! I am desperate to know! I'm actually finding the pregnancy ok, haven't been sick and I'm in quite an energetic phase but the midwife told me to enjoy it whilst it lasts 😂
Did they discuss birth plan with you already? Everytime I see the midwife or DR they just tell me it's too soon. How is it comparing with your singleton pregnancies? x

BraveHeart91 · 05/10/2023 09:26

@STH1988 oh wow when you seeing the consultant next? No sickness girl you lucky! I’ve been on anti sickness tablets since 11 weeks I was hospitalised with serve sickness HG. Without them I’d be back in hospital on drips. My single pregnancy’s wasn’t like this one with the sickness and I’m hungry all the time and I’m really moody with this pregnancy I’m up and down 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

yeah at 16 weeks I was given choice vaginal birth or c section but then at my 18 week appointment/scan I got told to have a c section :/ after I picked to have vaginal birth. X

@BraveHeart91 yeah everything was ok and very quick. Babies was in nicu for 2weeks coz they was born so early but didn’t require anything was my first c section aswell only had epidural went down to theater at 11.45pm and boys was born 12.08&12.09 and I was in recovery by 12.30pm the first day was a bit sore but was only in hospital two days and other than heavy lifting was back to normal like 3-4 days later try to do much walking as you can I found that helped and take painkillers every 6 hours.
I think the spoke to me about birth plan around 32wks as they will be born early at 36wks but mine decided to come at 33wks

BraveHeart91 · 05/10/2023 13:45

@Twimum23 so how does the sleeping work when home do I need two separate Moses baskets and next to me cribs?

Hi, I'm 24 weeks with identical twin boys, 1 placenta, 2 sacs. I had shocking sickness until about 20 weeks. Hope you are doing ok?

Ella31 · 05/10/2023 14:42

Should add I'm being seen every two weeks and checking for twin to twin as well. This is my first successful pregnancy, had 2 loses previously

STH1988 · 05/10/2023 15:07

@Twimum23 I have the same question!! I have zero clue what to do when it comes to sleeping, what to buy, what is different with twins versus one. 😳

@BraveHeart91 Next seeing the consultant at 20 weeks so wondering if they will talk birth and stuff then or because its a lower risk twin pregnancy maybe they will leave it a bit. I know I have been SO lucky to avoid the sickness - I am definitely hungry though I am eating everything in sight!! Did you get told to have a c section for a particular reason?

FTMCHD · 05/10/2023 15:29

Hi everyone, I’m currently 22 weeks pregnant with non-identical twins girls! My first pregnancy so a big shock! I have been looking at the Chicco next to me forever which is a larger next to me, hoping to do co-bedding as I’ve heard they’re more settled when sleeping together

Twimum23 · 05/10/2023 15:30

@BraveHeart91 @STH1988 ive had them in the same cot since we came home and they three months now we brought the cot that’s from birth to 4yrs so you can take the insert out and it turns into a toddler bed try and keep a gap between feeding aswell so they both don’t wake up at the same time for feed I’ve bottle fed not breastfeed

BraveHeart91 · 05/10/2023 18:04

@Ella31 hi Ella we are having same pregnancy just different genders 😂 how you feeling ?

OP posts:
BraveHeart91 · 05/10/2023 18:36

@FTMCHD hey! Congratulations on your twins :) I was looking at chicco next to me also but I’m so unsure how the bed situation works with twins I don’t have a big home Either so I need to make sure I have enough space.

how’s your pregnancy going so far? X
