Movement 24 weeks

Hello! I am 24 weeks + 5 and I wanted to ask those who are further along when you started to notice a consistent pattern of movement? I went to see the midwife at 23 weeks and I didn’t think I’d felt baby move yet, the day after I could feel her and I’ve felt her ever since, a pulsating feeling low down. This week I am off work so my routine has changed and I feel as though her kicks/movements are not as strong or as frequent as they have been. I had a booked midwife appointment yesterday and she listened to her heartbeat and said it was fine.

When I’ve had scans before I’ve always had to go away and come back because baby doesn’t want to move position and she has always been head down. Maybe she’s just a quieter / stubborn baby? I don’t want to ring MAU if they’re not going to take me seriously with me being 24 weeks.

When did you all start noticing regular movements? Did you have days that were quieter?

Thanks!

Hi!

Bumping this for you as I'm 18 weeks and haven't felt anything yet (or so I think) and I'm a bit worried.

Best of luck, OP! 🩷

You wouldn’t expect to feel regular movements until around 28 weeks, baby is still small and can move into a position where you can’t feel movement. If you do have worries you can call for reassurance.

@readingismycardio it’s very normal to take up to 24 weeks to feel movement, it depends a lot on baby’s position and where your placenta is.

Regarding the scans my dd was the same and I was told it was the sign of a happy contented baby. They were right she really was. I honestly cannot remember the exact time I started to feel kicks though but was definitely late on.

Is this your first baby?

I am 24 weeks now & have felt kicking for ages. I feel like there is a pattern now.

However, with my first baby I didn't feel her for ages & I had no idea what anyone was talking about when they were saying there should be a pattern, even closer to the end!

I wouldn't worry too much as long as you attend all of your appointments & they can tell you your baby is healthy. You will soon feel it.

I’m sure it fine but my midwife has always said to ring if worried - they’d rather hear from you than have u sit at home concerned

Hi op im 30 weeks today with baby no 4.
I didn't feel constant/more movement till I was 27 weeks. Baby now has a regular pattern l. I wouldn't worry.

Hello,
Adding to this had a similar experience at 23 weeks can feel regular flutters few days in a row and then quieter days. Went to the pregnancy assessment centre all they do is check heartbeat and that was all okay (thankfully). As a first time mum with anxiety I constantly worry but definitely have no established ‘pattern’ yet as such. If you are concerned definitely go in and get checked but all they said to me until atleast 28 weeks its still too early to establish movements as such. Not entirely helpful I know but I would say always follow your gut instinct as you know baby best.

Wising you all happy healthy babies 😊
