How long did it take to get your gestational diabetes result?

This is my second pregnancy and I had GD with my first. The midwife was convinced I would have it again as she said my sugar levels were looking quite high on my booking bloods.

I had the test last week on Tuesday with the glucose drink and so far haven't heard anything. They said the results could take up to a week and obviously it has been 5 days. They said if I didn't hear anything then no news is good news.

With my first pregnant they rang me the next day to say my result was positive. I think I thought this might happen again but it hasn't.

Has anyone waited the week to be told their GD result was positive?

Mine was about three days I think

The lab probably tested your blood ages ago. However it will be up to the midwife to acknowledgement the result and call you. If you are worried sick you could try calling the maternity assessment unit. They might or might not tell you over the phone, depending how busy they are and who you end up speaking to. Otherwise wait for the community midwife to call you in the week

I was told the same as you - no news within a week is good news. Low and behold, 10 days later at an unrelated consultant appointment, they told me I was positive for GD. Apparently, diabetes team had a backlog.

I had it in my last pregnancy and the diabetes nurse rang me first thing the next morning.

Do you not use an app of some sort? Mine were on the app within a few days.
