Did anyone have a boy nub on their 12 week scan but end up having a girl?

I know it’s common to see a girl nub but have a boy, how common is it to see a boy nub but have a girl?
I’m 99% sure it’s a boy, but still holding out a bit of hope that it could be a girl (I don’t actually mind if it’s a boy before people come for me, but we already have a little boy and have zero boys names we like for this baby 😂)

Haha I literally posted this exact same thread the other day! My 12 week scan is so boyish and I really thought it was another girl which would be easier for so many reasons!

I’ve got a gender scan booked for a few weeks time but the way I feel atm I think there’s no point. I’ve done tons of research on this and my understanding is once it appears risen it’s almost certainly a boy. I think there was a study done and 97% of fetuses identified as males using nub theory at 12 weeks turned out to be male. So there is a chance but it’s very small 🤣

Iconically I wanted a surprise this time, but this scan has definitely given the game away, I think it’s a pretty clear boy nub. Guess I best get thinking of a name!

@Caitlin991 aww that is such a clear scan! I know I sometimes wish I didn’t know so much about nub theory cos I feel like it’s ruined the reveal 🤣 2 of the same sex will be lush though! I agree that boys names are so much harder. I thought the last one was a boy and we could not agree on a name at all.

This is mine. I’ve had about 50 boy guesses across different groups so I think it’s pretty much a done deal! I think the only time it’s sometimes wrong is if the baby wouldn’t stop moving, the angle is awkward or the leg has been mistaken for the nub or something.

Defo looking like a boy nub to me, I think it’s more likely a nub that looks girly ending up being a boy because the nub can still rise after 12 weeks. Maybe book a gender scan earlier if you’re curious xx

@Emsxox we actually wanted a surprise this time, think that’s out the window now thanks to how clear that scan is, but we won’t officially find out the gender until he’s born 😂

I was told it was a boy nub on my scan but it turned out it wasn’t the nub that was pictured! Had a gender reveal recently and it’s a girl.

Happened to my friend as well. Hers actually was angled she sent it off to one of the sites you paid for and it came back boy and she had tons of people say boy in the Facebook groups as well. She’s definitely got a daughter!! So even though it’s not common it does happen.

I’m also wondering the same - everyone is saying this is a boy nub. And we wont find out until the end 🙈

Hi everyone, really enjoying this thread and looking at everyone’s scan photos! Can anyone take a guess at my scan photos from today? I’m 12w5d. My guess from the nub is a girl but I’d really value other opinions!

I was able to tell clearly with my son (he clearly had a boy nub at 12 weeks)!

Do you know what they are yet? my scan looks just like yours on 12+5 and im really hoping for a boy

She’s a girl @beccaparissa, just like I’d guessed (or at least as far as I know she’s a girl - I’ll find out for certain in a few weeks)!
