she visited doc today and seems concerned - he is sending her for a scan at EPU tommorow. She is really worried - has been having low, sharp pains on and off for the last 2 weeks. She is either 5.5 or 9.5 weeks pg but not sure as she has a one day bleed and doesnt know if it was period or implatation. She has had 2 posisitve pg tests a weeks and a half ago and no bleeding since that one day. What does everyone think? Are pains like this common or do they usually indicate that a miscarriage is iminent? I has a MC myself a year and a half ago but just got horrible cramping followed by bleeding - not like the pain she is having.

i had this and bleeding and all was well.

there is a massive difference in being 5.5 or 9.5 weeks pregnant, in terms of what EPU can see....

low sharp pains on and off without bleeding or passing anything could be ok, certainly over days or weeks, without anything being passed , but definitely needs checking.

fingers crossed

I've got no medical knowledge, but a colleague had this and it turned out to be an ovarian cyst. She was fine - no treatment needed - and ended up having a healthy baby.
