First trimester tiredness!

I am SO TIRED! I can't get through the day without a nap. I'm napping in my break room at work on my lunch hour. Does anyone else feel this way in the 1st trimester? This is my first pregnancy and I'm just so so exhausted. 5 weeks and 5 days. My cat is keeping me up at night which could be contributing.

I’m now 16 weeks with my first baby. I still get much more tired then I would if I wasn’t pregnant but the first trimester was something else. I napped every single day as I couldn’t function if not. I also had very bad morning sickness which was all day and if I didn’t nap it was worse. But I think because in the first trimester your hormones are all over the place, you are growing the baby and the placenta from scratch so you are extra tired in the first part.

I just want to say, both my kids are now teenagers and i still remember that extreme tiredness in early pregnancy, with both of them. Don't worry, it's normal.

I feel asleep at a live gig in my first trimester, that’s how tired I was!

I remember this and my youngest is 25! It's normal. For me weeks 7 to 9 were the worst for tiredness. After that it improved. Shame the all day, every day sickness didn't!

I remember the utter exhaustion I felt at around 6 to 11 weeks, I could barely function at times.

MotherofPearl · 02/10/2023 15:36

Ah, there's no exhaustion like it. With my first (who is now 15) I fell asleep in a restaurant halfway through dinner. My poor DP - it was just the two of us having dinner! Good luck OP and just roll with it and take all the naps you can.
