Bit worried re movements

I'm 21 weeks pregnant today and on Sunday I felt my first proper kick. Since then I haven't had kicks as such, but I've felt 'bubbling' every day, especially in the evenings.

I only had my 20 week scan yesterday afternoon and everything was fine, baby was moving around loads.

But today I've felt nothing and I'm a bit concerned. I'll wait and see if I feel anything this evening as that's when they seem to be most active but could this be normal?

As I said I haven't had proper kicks as such and I do have an anterior placenta as well.

At 20 weeks and with an anterior placenta, the movement won’t be consistent or strong at this stage. If you get to 24 weeks with little movement then mention it to your midwife but it took to 27/28/29 weeks for me to feel something strong everyday with an anterior placenta. I used to get really stressed out about it!

Regular movements aren’t expected until 28 weeks, before then baby is small enough to get into a position you can’t feel them, especially with an anterior placenta. Obviously if you are concerned you can call the midwife for advice but for many women it can take up to 24 weeks to feel any sort of movement. I have a posterior placenta and pregnant with number 3, still would go days without feeling movement until around 27 weeks when they increased.

Thanks for your replies.

I feel like I felt little movements throughout the night but its been so much less than compared to the start of the week.

I could cope better if I hadn't felt anything at all and was still waiting its just the fact that I'd been feeling these constant bubbles and now it seems to have stopped but if its not supposed to be consistent at this stage maybe it is just normal?!

I had days of lots of movement and others of basically none around this stage.
It was only at 28 weeks that they got properly consistent and strong.
Anterior placenta.

I'm 35 weeks at the min with my first, also anterior placenta. Around the same time as you I had some really quiet days, I'm sure I had some where I felt nothing. I also had a run of 'bubbles' days. I don't think the movements got into any pattern for me until about 28 weeks and even then it wasn't until after that when I started to get movements with a bit of welly in them!

Thanks so much for all your replies, it's reassuring
