Hello,

I just had my first scan this morning at a private ultrasound clinic (the session lasted 20mins). The sonographer was unable to locate the fetal pole after a transvaginal ultrasound. The gestational sac measures 17.6 mm and the yolk sac measures at 2.6mm. My LMP is 6w5d, but the gestational age (aua) dates 6w1d. She asked to return after 10-14 days to check again. However, I have an appointment at the early pregnancy unit at the hospital next Monday where I'll be 7 weeks and 3 days according to my LMP, and I plan to go and seek medical opinions. For information I had dark brown/dark red spotting 2 days ago that lasted for just a few minutes and it stopped. I also don't have any pains or cramping. My period is not very regular (around 26-27-28-29) days during the past 4/5 months. My last period started on the 11th of August.
I feel extremely helpless, which of the dates are more accurate? The GA (aua=actual ultrasound age) of my LMP? If the GA(aua) is 6w1d does that mean I'm still early and there is still hope?
would love if any of you who had similar experiences with positive outcomes that you can share? Is there still hope?

Best,

Hi there we are currently going through the same. We had egg transfer on the 6th sept and positive test in 10 days after . I definitely felt pregnant y and my body was growing . We’ve had 2 early pregnancy scans both showing empty sac with yolk thy has continued to grow . We go for another scan next Tue and I will then be 8 weeks . They have said in my case they don’t expect anything to change and sent me away with expected miscarriage leaflets . I feel so on shock it’s not sinking in, I totally understand how you must be feeling it’s such a worry.
I have the same confusion about the Ga as in my mind I’m only just over 6 weeks so praying there is still hope.
Have you had another scan now and how sis it go ? Xx
