Hi all,

I've just come from a midwife appointment and have been told that my baby is breech at the moment.
I am currently 31 weeks and the midwife has assured me that it's not an issue until 36 weeks as the baby may indeed turn.

Do any of you have experience with breech positions in the later stages of pregnancy? If so I would love to hear your stories!

Thank you in advance ☺️

Im a midwife and it is totally normal until 36 weeks. The vast majority of babies will move themselves around before this point. However, if I was in your position, I would be trying to help baby to move. When baby is active, go into the downwards dog or Muslim prayer position (whichever is most comfortable). Just hold the position for a minute or so. This encourages the baby out of your pelvis and when you come upright again, the baby should hopefully spin to being head down. Best to be done when baby is kicking so they can help by kicking themselves around. You can also try swimming as that also encourages baby to spin. Once head down they should stay there as their head is heaviest so gravity tends to keep it down.

Tons of time yet for baby to turn don't worry.

My baby turned at 34 weeks. I spent most evenings leaning over my birthing ball.
