Had 20 week scan today and the sonographer said she thought it was a baby girl but seemed very unsure... Has anyone had this and then turned out to be a boy?

Hasn’t happened with me but if it was an nhs scan they’re very non commital with the gender, in ours they said they think the baby is a girl as they could see three lines but will never give you 100% - if you couldn’t see anything sticking out for definite (for a boy), I’d say you’re probably having a girl. When we had our 20 week scan for our son it was so obvious he was a boy I said it before the sonographer lol xx

Yes ours said he wasn't 100% sure but I think they are not allowed to say they are a 100% in case they are wrong.

I ended up getting a gender scan at 'Window to the womb' and it was obviously a girl. Their scan photos and video are a lot better quality than the NHS one.

Yeah it was the NHS one today. Thanks for replying! I was just worried about telling people and getting used to the idea of a girl if it's not that clear.

You could always have a private gender scan for reassurance if you’re not 100%, we had one at 16 weeks and then confirmed at 20 weeks. Window to the womb are so lovely xx

Yes I might do that actually! There's one not far from me.

its only their best estimate of the baby’s sex. Have a private scan if it’s something that matters to you

Unhelpful comment 😂
