didn’t realise until the last minute and now i’m worried. i’m 9 weeks if that makes any difference (probably not!!).

What are the chances of getting toxoplasmosis and infecting the baby?

anything I can do now to reduce risk?

The risk would be very low, and the chance of anything passing through to baby is even lower. You’re actually more likely to get toxoplasmosis from soil, even then the risks are small and many people are already carrying antibodies. Relax and enjoy your holiday, hard as it is try not to worry about every little thing

Honestly don't worry, the guidance is very precautionary and based on limited evidence. Read "Expecting Better" book, you realise how little actual scientific evidence there is for any of the pregnancy advice.

Less than being struck by lightening, enjoy your holiday 😊

The Italians have eaten a fair amount ( if they could afford it) and they seem to be more or less okay.

Think about the fact that you didn't get toxoplasmosis in your entire life and you were not even careful. I am Italian, I grew up eating parma ham and never caught toxo. Relax! The chances are really, really slim.

There’s nothing you can do now but the risk is so small, you’ll likely be fine.

Thats what I always tell people!
The risk is minimal!
