Early round ligament pain, big baby?

Currently 10 weeks with first baby and for a few weeks I've been experiencing what I think is round ligament pains. These are intense sharp pains in one side above my pelvis that last for 10 seconds or so after sneezing or standing up too fast. Most of the articles I've read online say that round ligament pain doesn't start until the second trimester. Does having it early mean I'm going to have a big baby?

Nope, there's no correlation there. I have hypermobile joints and experienced round ligament pain in the first trimester with my son. He arrived a week late and was a teeny 6lb 9oz.

@TheBirdintheCave I also have hypermobility! And even not pregnant I sometimes experience roound ligament pain, when sneezing or moving too fast! It never occured to me that the two could be related, but it makes PERFECT sense!

I have been having round ligament pain throughout, am now at the end of the 1st trimester. The baby is measuring about right, but in any case, they are tiny at this point! My measures 6.5cm at 13 weeks. Tiny!

I had it from 10 weeks and was worried the baby was big as me and DH were 10lbs. LO came in at 7lb 13 which was fine. EMCS though (for other reasons).

All 3 of mine I’ve had round ligament pain really early, from 5/6 weeks. I’m still pregnant with my third but one & two were very average weights. Babies tend to grow at around the same rate at the beginning. I’d also read that it happens later on but seems very common to have it earlier on.

Thank you! Interesting to know there's no correlation. On some websites it says round ligament pains never happen before the 12th week of pregnancy. Well clearly they do! 😂
