I have 3 sisters who have all experienced repeat miscarriages. Two of them have children but in between healthy pregnancies they have had 3 or more miscarriages.

I have a child already and didn't take progesterone for that pregnancy but this was before they had their miscarriages.

I feel nervous because out of 4 sisters so far 3 have had multiple losses.

Has anyone been advised to take it as a precaution without having any previous losses?

Hi OP. I've only been prescribed progesterone after multiple losses.

I understand the anxiety, but you had a healthy pregnancy already and I think that it's much more relevant to how your new pregnancy will continue than the miscarriage pattern of your sisters.

Fingers crossed for you all.

I agree with PP, I'm sorry to hear about your sisters losses, but it doesn't really mean anything for you or your pregnancy.

Also just a word of warning, progesterone tablets (like provera) aren't pregnancy safe - at least is what my fertility clinic told me. We used progesterone tablets prior to pregnancy to induce a bleed, but progesterone pessaries (cyclogest) to hopefully keep baby in. If you happen to have any progestrone tablets from somewhere I'd strongly advise you not to take them.
