Hi all,

I have taken a pregnancy test today and it is positive!!! It says I am 1-2 weeks.

We have been TTC for the last 2 months and we didn't expect it to happen so quickly.

I'm feeling in shock, a little speechless and feel like it's not really hit me yet... is this normal??

I feel a little all over the place, don't know whether to scream, laugh, cry, but scared of loosing the baby already.

We are going to tell our parents the news but no one else until we know everything is all ok.

Any advice for a first time mum would be hugely appreciated.

Cathie xx

Congratulations!

All normal feelings - the reality might not even hit you until then baby is in your arms. And even then ... the first words DD heard after being born were 'Holy shit what do we do now' 😂

My initial advice would be to read and inform yourself for pregnancy and birth as much as you can. The Positive Birth Book by Milli Hill is a brilliant start. And her other book Give Birth Like a feminist if you're interested. And expecting better by Emily Oster.

These should remove anxiety and help you relax and enjoy your pregnancy. Best of luck OP!

As a ftm my advice would be to eat healthy, take rest and focus on yourself, you are the priority xx
