Getting married at 23 weeks pregnant - dress?

My original wedding date collides with my due date 🤦‍♀️ So we decided to bring it forward for when I will be 23 weeks. I just have no idea what to do about a dress….I don’t quite know what will suit/fit me at this stage (it’s my first pregnancy). Shall I just go one size bigger than usual and something that is a bit roomy around the belly, or go full maternity dress? If anyone was/is in the same situation, do you want to share what you wore / your ideas? Thanks 😊

You'll want somethings bigger around the boobs as well as abdomen. You can always get it taken in a bit nearer the time.
How far gone are you now?

I’m only 6 weeks now. I realise that a lot can happen in the coming weeks, but I’m also thinking I should start to prepare because suddenly my wedding is only 4 months away 😱😅

Hi @Cinai
Congratulations on your wedding hun!
I'm 5 months pregnant and went dress shopping for my baby's 1st birthday. I'm usually a size 10 but am now a comfortable size 14. I tried on a beautiful dress in Lipsy and it just didn't sit right, there were odd bulges in the dress. I also have a bigger size Next dress which also doesn't look amazing. I'm not sure if this is because the dresses are not maternity wear so don't look as nice on me. I'm still trying to find something, i'm thinking to just buy a maternity dress. I think it's good idea to start looking now hun xx

I already had my wedding dress when I found out I was pregnant, married at 23 weeks, the original dress fitted, no alterations needed. If I hadn’t been pregnant it would have needed to be made smaller, maybe go a bit bigger? No waist style? Cut above waist? However if I had married a week or so later it wouldn’t have fitted.

I had a back up in a bridal boutique nearby, this brand. The shop were lovely, they had stock of a few dresses from this range, so https://www.tiffanyrose.com/maternity/clothes/wedding-dresses.html tried on dress a few days before, it fitted so didn’t need to buy the second one.

I found out I was pregnant 2 weeks after I ordered my wedding dress. I was in between sizes so I got a size bigger and then when I found out about the pregnancy I called and got the size bigger than that. So basically a size and a half large than I am. I’m 15 weeks now and will be 19 weeks when I get married. I have found that even from my fitting last week to the one I had yesterday I’ve filled out the dress more. My seamstress is waiting until 2 weeks before the wedding to do the final edits as such because things can change quickly. I would definitely recommend getting a dress in 2 sizes bigger because it can always be made smaller.

Tiffany Rose is also in shops.

I wouldn’t leave it two weeks before, at that point you will be changing size weekly, book last fitting in the week of the wedding.

Thanks all!
These Tiffany Rose dresses look lovely! I’ll have a closer look…would love to try them on before ordering though, is there a shop in or near London that has them?
