I’m currently 38 weeks 3 days pregnant with my first baby, had a membrane sweep 48 hours ago to be told I’m already 3cm dilated, heads fully engaged and shockingly low, fully effaced and waters are bulging how can I carry on dilating ?

Walk, sideways walk up the stairs and things that make you happy to get the oxytocin flowing. Favourite foods, films, loved ones etc.

Why did you have a sweep so early?

thank you and it was recommended as he is so far down to the point on the last 3 scans they have not been able to even see his chin
