Late period

Please help I am soo confused. My period is 4 days late I am always on time. I have bad cold and caught, stuffy nose(sorry). Nausea but not sick, fatigue . Not so much breast tender I have tested negative on CB digital. I’m an older mum soo worried might be menopause.

Forgot to say I had baby dance on my fertile days. Any advice would be apriciated

Stress can make your period late so a bad cold could definitely cause that (I’ve had this happen myself). If you’ve tested negative with CB digital then it’s unlikely you’re pregnant. If your period doesn’t come in another three or four days then maybe test again. I suspect it will arrive though.

As for menopause, that could be possible but it depends on your age and family history. Some women don’t hit menopause until their 50s. If this is only your first cycle of being late, I wouldn’t worry about menopause yet.

My periods got closer together in peri, not further apart.

4 days late is nothing really. If the test is negative then you’re not likely to be pregnant as they’re so sensitive these days.

Yes I am trying to conceive. I have all pregnancy symptoms and after my period is late for 4 days I honestly believed I was pregnant. But after the negative result I got paranoid thinking what’s happening with my body.

I’m someone who never had such regularity as to know you are 4 days late. I just roughly had a period every month-ish. Only tested when I went past 40 days. Our bodies don’t know the date!

I think it's unlikely you're pregnant if you're getting negative at 4 days late as it would usually show up then. I'm usually exactly every 28 days, but I've had the odd month I've been a bit early or late, so it's probably nothing to worry about. Having said that, it may be worth doing a pregnancy test that has the lines as the digital type are a bit less sensitive.

I think it's safe to say you're not pregnant. A bad cold van delay your period. It's particularity frustrating when you're actively TTCing but I hope you get back to full health soon and next month is hopefully it for you!

I've had colds delay my periods before. I always track, and looking back over my late periods, almost all of them were caused by some kind of sickness.
