HAD SLIGHT SYMPTOMS WHEN FIRST PREGNANT AND NOW SEEM TO HAVE VERY LITTLE OR NONE (WEEING AT NIGHT,XTREMELY SORY/TENDER BOOBS AND NAUSEA). AM NOW 7 WEEKS(REALITY 5 WEEKS AFTER OVU)! PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU'VE EXPERIENCED SAME-WORRIED THERE'S NO BABY!

try not to worry, it's very common for symptoms to wax and wane. particularly around the 7-8 week mark, i believe. i hope everything's okay for you, congratulations on your pregnancy.

of course you are, it's tough, this early bit. we just have to cross our fingers (and legs) and hope for the best...

dunno, i've just hung around enough pregnancy boards in my time to know that posts like yours are often met with the question 'and are you about 7/8 weeks? then don't worry'. perhaps it's that your body is getting used to the hormones, who knows?

Whenever people on this site talk about how many weeks they are and what and when to expect things for that week etc-are they talking about actual weeks (from ovu) or the docs way of calculating week from first day of last period?

normally docs way, i think

The placenta takes over from just hormones to maintain the pregnancy at around 8 weeks, thats why sometimes symptoms wane around then

With my DD I had no symptoms at all in first trimester (other thna getting a little bit fatter).

With my second pg, I threw up at 5 weeks and had really sore boobs and constantly felt nausea . I had lost the baby by 7 weeks.

So goes to show no symptoms doesn't mean a problem and vice versa !

lalaland1 · 05/03/2008 19:29

You're all so lovely out there trying to reassure me-feel such a paranoid android! But with real crappy pregnancy experiences in the past I have turned into this being.!1st time around I was the most relaxed, positive and chilled out mummy to be and now even my husband's thinking I'm over reacting- and he knows what I've had to live through!!!Anyhows, thank you for your stories- they really help me to get a grip on things!Keep'em coming!

baby number one - absolutely not a single symptom apart from missed periods!

baby number 2 - ever so slight nausea for a week.

baby number 3 - every single symptom ever mentioned!! In huge quantities!

No 2 pregnancies are the same

I know. Just feel like buying my own scan machine to see and make sure as my Early preg unit scan's not til 20th of March!!!Tweeddling my thumbs and it's SO long to wait!!!

I know how you feel Lalaland.. even though I had some early PG syptoms I was still half convinced there wasn't really a baby in there and it would end up being just wind or something. Silly I know. But logic says you are still pregnant.. so you need to relax. The more relaxed you are the less chance of complications. Why not treat yourself to a repeat pregnancy test to soothe your fears. Unless you are rolling in cash, dont buy the scan machine and save the money for the baby. It'll be ok.
I know the time passes so slowly at first. You have all my sympathy. Here... have a miniegg! -gives you a handful-
