You should phone your midwife but little bumps are surrounded by fluid, and you, to keep them safe. I know you must be worried, give your midwife a call and ask her what you should do. I hope all's ok.

NatalieJane · 05/03/2008 09:49

Try not to worry, the baby is very very very well protected, especially at this stage.

If the pain continues or get's any worse, ring your midwife, but it is probably just that jarring sort of pain you'd have got if you were pregnant or not.

Feet up, relax, and eat chocolate.

Hope you feel better soon, it can be quite a shock.

The baby is really, really well protected at this stage. The amniotic fluid does a great job of cushioning the baby from anything that happens to you. To be honest, I would get in touch with the midwife to make sure that you are OK.

thanks everyone i think ill give her a call to put my mind at rest.

I've known people who've been oblivious to the fact they were pregnant at this stage go skiing, riding, etc, take a few falls.

I'm sure all will be well but a nasty shock for you.

Bridie3 · 05/03/2008 10:00

Meant to say in the above that the babies were FINE when these accidents happened!

KJ11 · 05/03/2008 10:07

that's what i keep thinking people do all sorts! i spoke to the midwife and she said shpuldn't be any problems but if i have any bleedign or pains to go to the doctor, so thats helped.

I fell over when I was 18 weeks pregnant and landed on my bump. Both me and baby were fine(although I do wonder about him now - 8 months old), I did ache for a while afterwards, and felt a bit silly!

clur79 · 05/03/2008 15:17

I mean I felt silly because I fell over my own feet!!!

NatalieJane · 05/03/2008 15:17

Ah good

Have a nice bath and just put your feet up, any excuse eh?!!

KJ11 · 05/03/2008 15:18

exactly i think i will do that!

clur79 - yes i feel quite stupid now must have looked a right one lying there on my back and then quickly getting uup crying!

dear oh dear!!!

Did you spend any of the pregnancy the right way up?!

Well it does go to prove the point that the baby is indeed very well protected in there!

I watched a program a couple of months ago, apparently an unborn baby survived the mum being struck by lightening, and consequently being thrown about 10 metres away I think it said

It is amazing really!
