Anyone here in a similar position? I'm feeling a bit of an odd one out on forums now where I don't feel pregnant pregnant and I don't feel infertile infertile, and thought I'd see if others were in the same, tentative situation. I don't feel like I'm ready to join the main May 2024 gang until I'm more confident this will continue.

I'm only 4 weeks 5 days :/

That's brilliant news @KG1244 😀

Welcome @MediaMinion
Sounds like you've had an incredibly tough time. Really hope your scan goes well on Thursday.

MediaMinion · 30/10/2023 21:24

@CazzyM1983 yes I must admit, my expectations were low and they've been great over the past few days. I was really disappointed on OTD that my scan was ages away and they weren't interested in doing a blood test, but they seem good ATM. And heads and shoulders above our local epu who were basically just advising to come back and see them if I'm having a miscarriage. Heartless. They were just awful.

Thank you for the welcome @countrypunk.

CazzyM1983 · 31/10/2023 08:31

@MediaMinion i had my 7 week scan with them and they haven’t contacted me since. I’m 15 +1 now. They have two of my embryos on ice. I felt like there should have been like a bit of an ending? They just said come back if there’s a problem and sent me on my way. I was like ummm ok thanks lol just been through most traumatic thing of my life with you guys but sweet yeah see you around lol

TheBirdintheCave · 31/10/2023 08:44

@KG1244 Glad it went well! :)

I've just come down with my sons cold so now I feel a weird mixture of nausea and cold symptoms which is not fun 😂 12 week scan on Thursday and I'm so so scared. I had a horrible nightmare last night that was got bad news and was so relieved when I woke up and it wasn't real.

IVFAlone · 31/10/2023 12:45

@TheBirdintheCave ahhh my scan isn’t for another week and I think we have the same due date! I need to announce because it’s killing me keeping a secret because it’s something to be so happy about but I also just want to make sure everything is ok before I do.

all my symptoms are basically non existent now but I’ve been told that’s normal so fingers crossed.

I hope your scan goes okay xxx

TheBirdintheCave · 31/10/2023 12:53

@IVFAlone We do indeed :)

My scan with my son was at 12+5 and I remember how torturous that felt. I definitely lucked out with that this time though my booking in appointment was only yesterday and I feel like I was waiting eons for that one.

IVFAlone · 31/10/2023 13:14

@IVFAlone my booking appointment was at 8 weeks so it feels like it’s been ages! Definitely sitting here stewing 😂

thislittlebird · 31/10/2023 15:29

@IVFAlone i kinda want to announce too but I’m so scared of something going wrong with the 12-14 week tests etc and I’m holding off.

Did anyone else here do PGT-a? I know the odds are good but there’s always a small chance the results were wrong.

I’m so hungry today. Breakfast 1, breakfast 2, then lunch 1 and 2, hoping I don’t want two dinners as well 🫠. I’ve been trying to have small portions because I’m so hungry.

@thislittlebird Also been ravo! I'm quite enjoying it. I've always loved my food but I don't think it's ever tasted so good!

We didn't PGT-A. Went back and forth on it a bit due to my age and miscarrying the first, but in the end just went ahead with the fresh transfer. It's such a tricky one, I read so much conflicting stuff.

countrypunk · 31/10/2023 15:45

@thislittlebird Sorry, I've just realised your post means you did PGT-A. I think my brain is already slowing down...

KG1244 · 31/10/2023 16:25

Thank you all for the lovely messages. It felt really special telling family and close friends yesterday although I did feel really nervous!

welcome to the group new members ❤️ I’ve found this little community really helpful and supportive. Hope you do too!

Happy Halloween to all. Really holding on to the thought and praying that next year I will have a little pumpkin to dress up 🎃

Misty84 · 31/10/2023 21:05

Had a gender scan today (16+4) and so happy to see everything is going well and that we’re having a baby boy!💙 Really overwhelming and wonderful to know what’s in there!

@Misty84 ahhhh yay!!! 💙 big congrats lovely xx

TheBirdintheCave · 31/10/2023 21:34

@Misty84 Great news! Congratulations!

thislittlebird · 01/11/2023 08:13

@Misty84 that’s great news, congrats! How are you feeling now you know? Does it seem more tangible? I’m so torn over whether I want to find out early or not, I’ll see how I feel if all is ok at 12 weeks.

@countrypunk yeah we did PGT-A because I was turning 40 and we knew the odds of good embryos was not great. Also didn’t really have much to lose when we’d had 5 fail before the PGT-A and then another fresh, untested fail for number 6.

I love my food and I wish I could enjoy it more but I feel awful eating so much because I’m getting tingly feet again, like I did when I think my sugar levels were high in May. I also have familial high cholesterol and I know cholesterol increases in late pregnancy so I won’t lie, I’m quite worried about how I eat for potentially high cholesterol and diabetes when I’m incredibly hungry most days. The tingly feet thing went away when I lost weight and cut the carbs right out and now I’ve gained again and eating more carbs it seems to be back. I want to talk to my doctor about it but getting to speak to a GP is a headache in itself.

@KG1244 Happy (late) Halloween to you too 🎃 My 18 month old niece wore a pumpkin costume for nursery yesterday! Ridiculously cute.

@Misty84 Congratulations 💜💙💛 we still can't decided if we want to find out or not... well I can't. My partner defo wants to know!

@thislittlebird That makes total sense after so many implantation failures.

The food thing sounds difficult. Hope you can speak to your GP soon and that they monitor you properly. I'm sure your midwife will take this seriously?

Misty84 · 01/11/2023 10:38

Thanks so much all!

@thislittlebird I still feel apprehensive about everything and that this could go wrong at any point, so I’m just trying to enjoy it as much as possible! It feels really special knowing what it is, what names we’ll be using etc! Lovely telling our family. Definitely feels more real for me.
I wasn’t sure whether or not I wanted to know, but similar to @countrypunk my partner DEF wanted to know, so that swayed it for me. Also as I’ve said before, likely to be our only child so I decided I’d prefer to be prepared. And as a friend said “It’s either going to be a surprise now or a surprise later!” 😄
💙

CollsR · 01/11/2023 10:57

Hello All! Congratulations on your pregnancies. I understand not feeling "pregnant pregnant". I've had my 12 week scan & all was good but still feel a bit unbelievable. Due early may. It will be my first. I should believe it as I've had bad nausea sine 6 weeks and been vomiting regularly since 10 weeks. Looking forward to the sickness stopping & energy returning. And very much looking forward to December when I should start having a bump and feeling baby move.

Misty84 · 01/11/2023 13:34

Oh and I wanted to add, it’s been slightly mixed feelings finding out the gender. I was trying to work out what I was feeling and I’ve realised it’s happiness for what it is and sadness for what it isn’t. And that’s understandable and ok!!

The main thing by a country mile is that I have a healthy baby growing and I’m beyond delighted with that, as I’m sure everyone on this thread is with our much-wanted pregnancies. 🌈

TheBirdintheCave · 01/11/2023 13:42

@Misty84 I get that. I think it's totally normal to feel that way.

CazzyM1983 · 01/11/2023 18:53

@thislittlebird i had pgta done due to my age.

@Misty84 eeeek that’s so exciting! A little boy! I kind of really want to find out the gender but I’ve said I’m waiting for the surprise. I might change my mind though. I like the idea of being able to call baby by their name before they’re here.

everyone will be pleased to know my work place dramas have now been resolved after I had to get arsey. Could have done without the hassle but it’s sorted now.
and my covid is gone. Still on clexhane for a few more days but I can’t complain becasue originally it was 6 weeks they said I had to be on it for lol that horrified me. My stomach is so bruised. Did not bruise this bad with ivf injections!
so a good day here for me and bump.
got a scan booked for next week and I can’t wait to have a peek at them again!

countrypunk · 01/11/2023 19:12

@CollsR Welcome and congrats! Hope your sickness clears up soon, that sounds horrible.

@CazzyM1983 Great news on the work stuff and covid!

@Misty84 That's exactly how I imagine I'll feel if we find out. But my friend said knowing the sex helped her bond more with the baby before he arrived, so that's a big pro.

KG1244 · 01/11/2023 22:39

@CollsR Hey, sounds like we are in a similar boat 👋🏻 I’m due in May with my first too and also had a very green experience - throwing up 2/3 times a day. Really hoping it will pass soon. Have you found anything that helps with the sickness?

@CazzyM1983 so pleased to hear that your work issues are getting sorted and that your covid is gone ❤️

CollsR · 02/11/2023 15:36

@KG1244 At my 12 week antenatal appointment my doctor prescribed cyclizine 50mg tablets. They have been helping with both vomiting and nausea. I also try sip water all day (not too much) and eat 4-5 smaller meals. Also just eating what my body wants. When my partner cooks I've explained it's just not what the baby wants and have toast if I want. I've also been taking pregnacare max to avoid guilt about not eating as varied as usual. Sometimes all that helps is laying down. Thankfully I have been able to do my office job from home the last few weeks.

TheBirdintheCave · 02/11/2023 15:39

12 week scan went well :) We have a lovely wiggly, waving baby who looks just like their big brother 😬
