IVF pregnancies - Spring 2024

Anyone here in a similar position? I'm feeling a bit of an odd one out on forums now where I don't feel pregnant pregnant and I don't feel infertile infertile, and thought I'd see if others were in the same, tentative situation. I don't feel like I'm ready to join the main May 2024 gang until I'm more confident this will continue.

I'm only 4 weeks 5 days :/

There was someone on this group who was getting extreme tiredness. I’ve had this for the past two days - so exhausted and ready for bed and sleep by 8pm. Even though I’ve squeezed in a nap during the day. So so tired!!!

@CazzyM1983 sorry you’ve had such a shit day. Pregnancy is really hard. I don’t think I realised how hard it would be! Is there an HR person you could speak to confidentiality? Your work are required to make adjustments for you

I'm early June, still lurking just wish there was a like button so can show support when nothing more to say 😁 now at 8 weeks, 7 week scan was positive last week, saw the heartbeat and still in disbelief but happy 👍

@CazzyM1983 sorry you had a bad day, the Covid thing is a worry. I'm now offered an additional booster now pregnant and wondering when best to get that...waiting til 12 weeks so less vulnerable and all attached properly to benefit (my own logic 🤷) I cancelled going to London for my job today as just want to stay away from risk for the next few weeks but really hard when colleagues don't know you're pregnant yet or are ignorant to what we've gone through to this point. I do think it makes us all more conscious of vulnerability. That said, we're all here, all's ticking along and just need to stay as positive as we can ❤️

@CazzyM1983 Sorry about your bullshit day yesterday. Hope today is much better. Early pregnancy is absolutely knackering.

@Jpos I had my covid booster last week at 17+3 and I've had the flu jab too.
I don't think I've ever been more nervous than I was before my 7 week scan, because it was bad news at the last one. The high when this one was positive was amazing! Congratulations 🙂

@countrypunk oh that must have been a worry for you and as you say what a high to see all ok! So glad it's been ok for you this time. I'd tested daily up until mine but was a massive relief to see all normal and a strong heartbeat. Still not sunk in I’m pregnant yet to be honest...after 12weeks I'll allow myself to get more excited I think 😁🤷. I reckon vaccine wise will book in asap after 12wks but going to speak with midwife in a few weeks so can discuss with her then. Onwards we go! 👍

Hey guys! I have been having dull pains in the lumbar parts of my belly on and off for a while. It's not sharp so I don't think it's RLP - does anyone else have this pain / can advise on what it is?

@Jpos It takes ages to sink in, I think it's only really starting to with me now!

@IVFAlone where are the lumbar parts of the belly? I've had and still have all sorts of jabby pains in the general crotch area. And sometimes in the bum area too.

@IVFAlone Sounds like growing pains to me. I think I'd only worry if I was having bad period-like pains, and actually some women have those and all is fine! I've had all sorts weird pains. Some more achy and some more stabby.

Hi everyone! Thanks for your kind words. It really was a bullshit day! Today was similar. Expecting me to go and see someone that needed three people to sort them out recently when they kicked off. Ummm no I won’t be going anywhere near them thank you!
Got asked just take them for a walk, what in the woods so they can push me over? I don’t think so!
@IVFAlone i keep getting weird stretchy pains and today I have painful ribs. And I’ve had electric shocks from my foof to my belly button yesterday.

@CazzyM1983 Ive had a stretchy feeling the whole way through my pregnancy. And I’ve recently had 2 weeks of very bad rib pain which is FINALLY easing off (sneezing/coughing was excruciating).
Electric shocks does not sound fun!!🫤

Hey @TheBirdintheCave it’s a private scan with Window to the Womb, it’s that in the day late so my partner doesn’t have to take time off work. Decided there’s no way we can wait between the 12 and 20 week NHS scans with no idea all is ok in there!🤪 So this scan is halfway between the two. And will find out the gender 🤗
Only £60 which is a drop in the ocean compared to the tens of thousands spent trying to achieve this baby!!!

Hi everyone! Hope everyone’s scans go well today!
I’m just here to moan really.
i tested positive for covid and now I’m bricking it.
probably why I’ve been so blah the last few days. Fifth time I’ve had it so clearly natural immunity isn’t a thing here!
waiting for midwife to call me back. Lost my shit in work cos no one seems bothered about my health and safety. Had stupid demands put on me all week that I’ve had to argue against.
not cool!
so yes I’m grumpy and upset today!

I lost my shit with work because they haven’t looked after my health and safety at all and it just triggered me cos I’m shitting it and I could only have caught covid from work.
im ok. Just got sore throat, sinus pain and shivers. I’ve had previous vaccines so hopefully that’s in my favour. Just worried what happens to babies when ur preganant and get it. Just a bit scary!

Midwife rang. She said it’s more risky to baby in first 12 weeks so that’s a relief. She said I have to go on clexhane for ten days tho due to clotting risk. Waah thought I was dodging injections until week 26!
anyway I’m feeling more reassured and she insists I should be ok.
