Anyone here in a similar position? I'm feeling a bit of an odd one out on forums now where I don't feel pregnant pregnant and I don't feel infertile infertile, and thought I'd see if others were in the same, tentative situation. I don't feel like I'm ready to join the main May 2024 gang until I'm more confident this will continue.

I'm only 4 weeks 5 days :/

@KG1244 Also spotting is listed as an early pregnancy symptom on lots of the pregnancy guide sites. I know the sight of even a tiny amount of blood is really worrying though. I totally understand how you're feeling.

TheBirdintheCave · 06/10/2023 11:44

@KG1244 The pessaries can definitely aggravate the cervix so that could well be the cause.

KG1244 · 06/10/2023 11:48

@TheBirdintheCave @countrypunk Thanks both. I phoned again and the nurse reiterated not to worry and only if it’s red blood and filing a pad would they scan. Otherwise I could get a scan privately. The fact it has gone now does make me feel less concerned and I also read nhs website saying that which def makes me feel better. Urgh it’s just a constant worry! I’m 8 + 6 today. I mean it was so so minimal in terms of discharge. I think if it appears in a pad over the weekend, I will push for a scan or just go privately.

countrypunk · 06/10/2023 11:52

@KG1244 ❤️

KG1244 · 06/10/2023 13:01

Changed my mind. I’ve booked myself in for a private scan this afternoon. For £60 it’s worth just putting my mind at ease.

Misty84 · 06/10/2023 13:21

Best of luck @KG1244

thislittlebird · 06/10/2023 13:26

@KG1244 sounds like a good idea to get scanned. Disappointing they won’t see you, my EPU saw me when it wasn’t red.

That’s a good value scan, I need to find those. My private one is £200.

@KG1244 Definitely worth it to help you feel better.

countrypunk · 06/10/2023 13:41

@KG1244 Money well spent I reckon ❤️

Summerishere83 · 06/10/2023 13:47

Hope the scan goes well @KG1244 !!

KG1244 · 06/10/2023 14:33

Thank you all. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Looking for some positive words of wisdom please ❤️

Last night when I wiped, I noticed it was very pale pink and then this morning, very light brown. It’s gone now but obviously felt quite panicked. I phoned the EPU and the nurse said not to worry and only to phone if it is red and filling a pad. Anyone else been in a similar position? Really appreciate your support, and really don’t want to think about the M word.

Similar things happened to me 2 weeks ago. I went to the EPU and got seen, and it was just an irritated cervix.
They told me to not worry unless it was bright red, or in any reasonable quantity.

It will be fine!

KG1244 · 06/10/2023 16:25

@ASGIRC you were right. Baby was all good - saw the arms and legs wiggling around ❤️

ASGIRC · 06/10/2023 16:32

@KG1244 but the panic is understandable.

I panicked too.

But here in Portugal, you call the equivalent on 111 and they always send you to be checked out.
So I went to my EPU. They were really nice and they always examine the cervix as well, and saw the bleed point straight away. They cleaned it up with some gauze, then scanned me anyway, to make sure that was it, and there wasn't any bleed points in the uterus.

Afterwards they told me my cervix is friable, to avoid sex (as it can cause bleeding, and worry, not because sex will cause any issues), and only go back if blood was red and abundant.

But yay for seeing baby moving!!

I've just booked my sex scan for 2 weeks from now, when I'll be 16+2

I've asked for it to be 2d and not 5d,as I find those absolutely terrifying! 😂😂😂

countrypunk · 06/10/2023 17:13

@KG1244 Woohoo! And now you can relax (for the next 5 minutes. That's as long as I'm able to not worry for anyway).

@ASGIRC I don't like those scans either, I think they're really sinister!

TheBirdintheCave · 06/10/2023 17:13

@KG1244 Aww that's great! :D So glad everything was ok.

KG1244 · 06/10/2023 17:14

@ASGIRC thats really good. Sounds like really good care in Portugal. Have you always lived there?

Yes, it felt really good. I think cause it’s such a long road with IVF, it all just feels really nerve wracking and the stakes are so high.

Exciting that you’ve got a date for your sex scan. Any gender vibes?

ASGIRC · 06/10/2023 17:19

@KG1244 I am from Portugal, but only moved back recently. From 2008 until covid I lived in London, and in 2021 and 2022 I split my time between Lisbon and the UK.
Been back permanently since December, to embark on this new adventure!

I want a girl. But have been trying to psych myself to the fact that it might be a boy, so that the gender disappointment isn't too bad 😂😂

My embryo was also "girly" (a 3AA, they are 60% girls 😂) so I'm hopeful

@countrypunk yup...no idea why they are so popular! 😂😂

thislittlebird · 06/10/2023 18:00

@KG1244 that’s great news! £60 well spent! How many weeks are you now? Weird how soon you can see all this stuff

@countrypunk what are these scans? Does it make a difference if it’s day 2 or 5 of the week? I’m out of the loop here

Part of me would like the surprise but I don’t think I’ve got it in me to wait, so will likely do a 16 week scan too. 4AA is slightly more likely a boy, but icsi more likely a girl, so I don’t know how that works out. It’s strange, I always wanted a girl (which is batshit when I consider what me and my sisters were like as teens) but I’ve definitely come round to the idea of a boy since I got the bfp. Will be sad I don’t get to use my very nice girl names though.

@thislittlebird Oh no, d as in dimension! See this: https://anticipationultrasoundstudio.com/the-difference-between-2d-3d-4d-and-5d-ultrasounds/

So they give you a really detailed image of the baby. I find them a bit weird Confused

IVFAlone · 06/10/2023 19:35

Hi! I’m around 8w1d. Has anyone else experienced a loss of symptoms around now?

thislittlebird · 06/10/2023 19:49

@countrypunk ohhhh, I see. Oh yeah, not sure i'd be keen on that either!

TheBirdintheCave · 06/10/2023 22:55

@IVFAlone My nausea wasn't as bad today as yesterday and I'm the same as you at 8+1. Will have to see it it's bad again tomorrow.

KG1244 · 06/10/2023 22:59

@ASGIRC ahhh I love Lisbon! I went for the first time in March. Don’t feel bad, I think a lot of people have a preference. How do you find out the stats for a specific embryo grade?

@thislittlebird its absolutely mad. I will be 9 weeks tomorrow.

@countrypunk totally agree on the scans - 5d freaks me out!

@IVFAlone i know it’s hard but try not to worry. It really is so variable. Last weekend, I felt fine but this week has not been good. Some people also just don’t really get symptoms. How long do you feel like symptoms have been gone for?

IVFAlone · 06/10/2023 23:13

@KG1244 - I feel like today and yesterday I’ve felt better and not as bad as I’ve been feeling. Doing a little googling it seems like there’s a lot of threads on peoples symptoms easing up around 8w but that doesn’t mean it makes us feel any less anxious!
