Light bleed

Hi everyone

I feel a bit lost and overwhelmed at the information online and just wanted to see if I could find anyone who had a similar experience.

Warning, this is most definitely a TMI post 😂

I am 8week 2 days. Yesterday after having a BM i experienced a very small bleed which started red then turned into a very small amount of brown spotting and eventually stopped. Today, the same thing happened but the bleed is a little heavier (still very light and not comparable to a period but it's more than spotting and red)

Is this a thing? Or am i probably facing the worst case scenario. I have a private scan booked tomorrow as I had a bad experience with the EPU last time i miscarried.

Thanks in advance. I'd be lost without this forum.

Hi @Lithgow2000 I have no medical experience but just want to share what happened to me. I am now 16+5 and I have exactly what you’re describing for the last 4/5 weeks on and off I also panicked. Sometimes after a bowel movement, sometimes on its own it goes away comes back. Baby is fine they found a small polyp on my cervix and think it’s possibly coming from that and I could have it all through my pregnancy. Hope everything goes well for you x

I really appreciate you sharing this and it's giving me alot of hope, thank you so much. I'm hoping it's a good sign it's not progressing into anything major and is very different to a miscarriage i had previously. Congratulations x

I had this at 4.5 weeks and then again at 5 weeks both time was shortly after bowel movements. I was put on progesterone as a precaution but I had a scan at 6w and everything was fine. Couldn't find a reason for the bleeding but they thought my cervix was probably the cause.

Thank you so much. If you don't mind me asking, did you report to your GP for the progesterone?

The EPU provided it for me but said the GP could prescribe it. I suppose they were more cautious with me as I'm 35 and took 2 years to get pregnant. It would be worth asking for but usually they want to verify pregnancy is in the correct place

Thank you! I guess i'll take it from my scan tomorrow.
