22 weeks -non stop contractions

I'm 22 weeks and for the last few days I've had an enormous amount of Braxton Hicks alongside back pain and some abdominal discomfort. The abdominal pain feels like general soreness over the bump as well as twinging pain over my hips and generally low down on my bump towards my pubic bone. I went in to triage yesterday. Cervix was high up and shut and had a negative fibronectin test so I know I'm not in premature labour. The doctor suspected pelvic girdle pain. I've been signed of work for a couple of weeks so I'm at home and have been trying to rest to hopefully improve my symptoms. But honestly whilst I'm lying here I'm just contracting over and over again whether I lie on my front or my side. I don't understand how pelvic girdle pain explains the amount of contractions I'm having. They're not as painful as period pain or at least they're differently painful. My whole back, low abdominal area just feels really uncomfortable. Has anyone else had anything like this? I don't want to go back to triage again and they already ruled out premature labour but I don't understand what the hell is going on. :( Thanksxx

If it doesn’t ease up I would go back, even though that is a pain. It is always better to be checked .

Yes, I'm sure you're right. I'm going to monitor it for a couple of days then will see. I found that drinking an absolute ton of water, and I mean, a lot, seems to make them a bit less frequent. Very annoying needing to wee every 15 minutes though!xx

Please go back to triage/A&E and ask for a second opinion. I don’t want to scare you but that’s how my labour started at 18 weeks. Thankfully I was well looked after and baby arrived safe at full term.

Thanks for your reply <3 was that even after a negative fibronectin? X

No I didn’t have that but there has to be a reason for the unusual pains so early on. Is this your first pregnancy?

Cowlover89 · 21/09/2023 22:39

Definitely get second opinion x

It is yeah, the only thing I've found that feels like it could describe it is irritable uterus. I'll definitely get a second opinion tomorrowxx

Hi @Elz1406 how did you get on? I am 22 weeks and having something that sounds really similiar. Hopefully all was OK for you?
