Colposcopy and weak cervix

Hello all, here I am again with another reason to drive myself insane (hopefully over nothing).
I'm 15 weeks pregnant and I suddenly remembered that when I was 19 (am 34 now) I had a colposcopy done and I think some scar tissue was removed with a laser (definitely wasn't LETZ). The issue is, this was 15 years ago and in my home country so I have no way to retrieve the data.

Does anyone know if a colposcopy/laser removal can cause cervical weakness? I will mention it to my MW at my appointment next week (and will ask to be measured) as it's been so long since it happened that I had honestly forgotten about it.

Any experiences are appreciated 💛
Thank you!

I've had 2 colposcopies before I had DD and it was fine. I mentioned to the MW and it went in my maternity notes but no further action needed. No issues through pregnancy (the little bugger was almost 2 weeks late too)

Hey, thanks for sharing. My main concern here is that I remember having the scar tissue removed through laser, and I don't know if that might put me at risk of cervical weakness 😩I guess I can only ask at my appointment. I'll try not to panic before that (easier said than done lol)

I had a colposcopy and a cone biopsy years before I had ds. 1st ob/gyn put me on progesterone as a precaution, 2nd ob/gyn (I moved cities) said it wasn't really necessary. All was well, no issues whatsoever.

I've had 3 lletz procedures, and biopsies, I'm 24 weeks pregnant & have had forthrightly scans and measurements to check my cervix length throughout pregnancy, so just mention it & I'm sure they'll just have a look to see what's going on, cervix measurements can change throughout the pregnancy.

I had colposcopy referrals twice, maybe 10-14 years ago. It came up at my booking in appointment with my midwife and I have been given a referral to a consultant at 17 weeks. I don't think I had treatment, just punch biopsies, but I called my GP this week and asked them to dig out all my notes. I have moved from England to Scotland in this time so I wasn't certain all my notes were transferred ok. I just want to be sure of what I had before I see the consultant so I understand how you feel.

I have been told it's probably going to be ok if it was just biopsies but I might get some extra monitoring/scans. I know a cervical stitch can be an option if some of your cervix was removed with the LETZ.

Thanks all. I'm 100% sure I had a laser procedure done, which shouldn't include removal of tissue. Actually it's one of the safest procedures as it should only vaporize the bad tissue, while leaving the healthy tissue intact. Although I sincerely doubt that I can retrieve my procedure notes as we're talking of 15 years ago, in another country

I realized that I completely forgot to mention this at my booking appointment, so will have to mention it when I see my MW next week.
