Title says it all.

It was fine on Thursday when it was checked by midwife. Since then i had terrible stomach bug that lasted until yesterday.

On Friday urine went a very dark orange colour and still is regardless of how much i drink.

Tried to leave a sample with midwife but she's on holiday and i left it with reception. Been trying to call to make sure a midwife gets it but no one answers the phone.

I am 36 weeks any ideas

have you been eating a lot of carrots? - sounds daft but it can make your wee go orange

LaylaandSethsmum · 04/03/2008 16:39

Have you eaten anything strange or anything in excess? Are you taking tablets for anything else?
Could still be from getting a bit dehydrtaed with your bug.

Sparkler · 04/03/2008 16:41

I was going to ask if you've eaten something with strong colouring too.
Better to be safe than sorry though and get it checked with a professional.
Call NHS direct if you don't get hold of anyone else today.
Good luck with the birth btw - not much longer for you now.

Miggsie · 04/03/2008 16:41

Are you on iron tablets?
They cover them with that artificial colour you see

walkingwomb · 04/03/2008 16:43

Mine went a bright flourescent yellow in the first trimester - really freaky colour. I ended up dragging DH into the loo to admire it. I just assumed it was a preggers phase and it passed in a couple fo days.

Dark urine (not sure about orange!) can be a sign that something is wrong with your liver and is a possible symptom of pre-eclampsia. Other symptoms include headaches, visual disturbance, sudden swelling or pain under the ribs. If you have any of these you should get yourself to a doctor ASAP - if not it's still better to go and get checked out. Probably nothing but best to be sure. Good luck!

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 04/03/2008 19:59

ABitBatty · 05/03/2008 09:20

My wee is orangey too and has been for weeks regardless of how much I drink. incidentally, I'm 30 weeks pg with a baby boy!

Didylicious · 05/03/2008 15:16

Yes - I noticed my wee was more orangey this time - and I am carrying a boy this time around too!

Hope you are okay, it might be just a pregnancy thing - but do get checked out by dr just incase!

VictorianSqualor · 05/03/2008 15:32

My wee has been darker than normal, more orangey I suppose, it's all fien though, has been like this for a while, and apart from a trace of protein is all OK.
(am 35 weeks btw, so it may be normal towards the end?)
