Dont you love it when you think your doing something that is totally fine and then someone opens their mouth and scares the living daylights out of you.

I was mentioning to my friend that I would be lost at the moment without Philidelphia cheese because its so mild it doesnt offend my morning sickness. They then said that I shouldnt have it because it was a soft cheese but I was under the impression that it wasnt in the catagory with brie and camembert -- oh my God do I miss brie and camembert! - so it was fine to eat.

Now I am REALLY confused and slightly paranoid so I was wondering if anyone here knew whether it was safe or not.

Thanks!

Afaik, it's made with pastuerised milk and is not ripened, so is fine.

MrsBadger · 04/03/2008 14:26

Philadelphia is pasteurised and not mould-ripened, it is completely safe and your friend is a twit

good guidance here

it's pasteurised therefore you are fine to eat it.

I thought so - thanks a lot.

It's amazing how you can go from normal to panic in 0.02 seconds!
