My wife and I have just gone through IVF and now in the first trimester. I wondered if there is anyone else going through the same thing - how did you conceive and what was the process like for you?

I am currently 20 weeks carrying my wife’s egg which we fertilised with a friends sperm (so known donor). Also IVF. The process was lonngggggg and not ideal in terms of number of cycles and complications etc. And crazy expensive. We both have different fertility issues, and the pregnancy has been complicated but feeling the baby roll all over the place is just magic.

Hello :) congrats on your pregnancy! Hope the journey wasn't too rough. How's your pregnancy going so far?

I'm currently 11 weeks pregnant after going through ivf (own egg) It was my first round but I didn't respond very well to the drugs so we are extremely lucky to be in this position.
This is our second child and my wife carried last time using her eggs. The process was slightly lengthier then as we did 6 cycles of IUI before moving to ivf which worked first time. Our DD is currently 20 months old 😀

Hi girls! I’m currently 13 weeks from IVF. First baby for myself and my wife so we’re super excited. We were super lucky with the process - only the one attempt. But the process did take a long time - maybe a year in total.

@jamontoast2 oh wow, that’s great you know your donor personally! Sorry to hear about the complications. Half way there 😁do you know the sex or are you having a surprise?

@noaddedsugarx pregnancy so far has been smooth sailing. Other than feeling extremely tired, i’ve had no other symptoms! For various reasons we decided against IUI and did ‘mild’ IVF instead - I was a bit worried about my risk of OHSS but thankfully didn’t experience any problems.

@WholeZebra hey, that’s great to hear it worked first time for you 😊 I’m 9 weeks with our first baby after our first round too, so feeling extremely lucky and grateful that it worked for us! We didn’t realise how much preplanning and paperwork was actually involved before starting, so it took us about 8 months to actually begin treatment.
