3rd baby induction v C section

So I am currently 36 weeks pregnant with my third baby, not been a smooth ride this one like my other two and they are wanting to induce me at 37 weeks (they will give me a date at my next appointment on Wednesday this week)

My mind is going into overdrive as I have always always hated the idea of an induction and the risk that come with it, especially with me only being 37 weeks so it’s quite early, I don’t want to be spending 50 hours in labour for it to end up in an emergency c-section and my body be knackered!

I’m really considering opting for a elective section, my question, has anyone had their first elective with two small children already at home? How was the recovery? I have quite a high pain threshold and have done two vaginal births on nothing but two paracetamol, but my second born will only be 11 months old, I will have support but how long am I looking at realistically before I can cuddle her and lift her?

alternatively anybody had to be induced on baby number 3 and it be positive and quick? They keep saying my body will know what to do which I understand but if my cervix isn’t ready will it still likely be quick?

Thanks all 🥰

I had a section and was absolutely fine. In and out in under 24hrs, minimal pain and was walking around the park on day three. Semi-elective, as in I was booked in for one but went into labour early and just had to wait until a slot became available. I loved my section, was so relaxed, felt very magical!!
