Tightenings

Hey,
I've been having tightenings on and off for 2 weeks now, to the point where they are regular every 5 mins apart for 9+ hours sometimes, went to the hospital and they can't understand why I'm getting them so regularly. They don't feel like Braxton Hicks as these are consistent and not sporadic like BH. They last from 40-60s. I'm currently 36 weeks with second baby and just wondering if any other mummas have or are experiencing the same thing. Was put on a ctg and kept in hospital overnight last weekend but no further forward with answers. Had them since every other day, lastnight they started back up at 8pm and still getting them now followed by very sensitive nipples which I've not had throughout and they're heavy and tender, again this didn't happen with my first until closer to when he was born. And also tmi but bowel movements are more frequent today and softer/looser. Anyone feeling the same or can shed some past experiences similar? 😆

I’m surprised they are saying they can’t understand why you are getting them as I’ve known quite a few people who have had regular BH for weeks. Doesn’t seem that uncommon. I didn’t notice BH at all with my first but noticed them with my second. I’d also get them regularly for extended periods. They would be worse if I hadn’t drank enough or baby was in certain positions. She didn’t arrive until 40+2 and all the midwives just said it was really common as you get closer to the end

@PickledScrump Yeah I didn't get them much with my first but noticed from about 25 weeks with this baby i would get them randomly but the last wee while it seems to have ramped up a lot and aren't just random or sporadic anymore, I drink lots during the day and even on my days off where I'm just relaxing doing light things I seem to get them for hours and hours and hours, change of position does nothing, warm baths/showers, drinking more, walking about, relaxing, nothing seems to settle them. My toco baseline on the ctg was about 6ish and it was going up to 40-60 during each surge. I'm sure all will be fine just feeling extra rubbish the last few days and tired! Not long to go now atleast 😆

Did they do a speculum or vaginal exam at the hospital?

I am 38 weeks today and I feel same. Yesterday I thought that I may be in labour but no, it's BH! When I have them, they are very regular and quite painful but then they stop 😑
