Hi all!
Bit of background.
I am a mummy to 8 DC. I'm currently pregnant with number 9.
Due to having small babies and the amount of babies I've had in the past I was classed as high risk. Put under consultant care with this baby, growth scans etc.
Currently 33 weeks pregnant and had a growth Scan at 32 weeks , which shows baby has a large tummy and the amount of fluid around baby is more than expected.
Yesterday I had to go for a Glucose tolerance test, and the midwife rang me by the afternoon to say that I have Gestational Diabetes.

I have never had this before in any of my Previous pregnancies and now I'm super worried. I have really bad anxiety and to be honest not enjoyed this pregnancy with the thought that something is going to go wrong.
Can anyone else share their stories if they've had GD in pregnancy and what was your birth like.
I'd like to add I'm absolutely tiny, so really scared about baby being huge and then having complications.

Thanks for reading ❤️

Hello I had it in first pregnancy and have again in this one. I followed advice from Gestational Diabetes UK Facebook and website. I was mainly diet controlled with first one - needed insulin for fasting at 34 weeks. This one I've been diagnosed at 10.5 weeks so much earlier. My child was elective section on first one but born 7lb 3.

@Kezhoust2586

I’ve also recently found out I have GD, I can’t help with your question about how other people’s births went as this is my first baby, but I’ve just started a thread for others with GD to chat about how it’s going if you’re interested

@LittleDoveLove Thankyou for replying.
I do have my first appointment on Wednesday coming with the diabetic team. The midwife who called yesterday only spoke about that and coming in to pick up the blood sugar level finger prick test things.
I'm just worried about the affects this will have on baby. Yes I've googled (stupid me) and now I'm worried about stillborn , prem labour etc.
You'd think I'm a pro by now but honestly I'm going out my mind sick with worry 😟
I'm severely needle phobic so insulin would be off the cards.
Glad your pregnancies and babies were fine 🙂
