Why does it feel like I've been hit with a metal pole across the stomach - all the time!

I want to know if this pregnancy symptom is normal.

I had my first child in my 20s - honestly I can say that I barely had any symptoms. If my stomach didn't grown and my period never stopped I would have never known I was pregnant.

Now in my 30s I have felt all of the typical symptoms but I am also feeling this extreme soreness in my lower abdomen and it spreads across my pelvis. It takes me a while to get out of my seat and I limp slightly when I walk.

I am 12 weeks and I've experiences this for a few weeks now - everyday - non stop. Midwife says that it's ligaments stretching. But surely this pain should go away every now and then.

Has anyone had this?

I think I had this. And I have so many other aches in third trimester. Also in 30s, 20s pregnancy was very different.

Ask midwife for a referral to the women's/pregnancy physio clinic and make sure they use manual therapy. That really helps.
