The first day of my lmp was 19/07/23. My periods are very irregular and usually last around 8 days and my average cycle length is around 32 days.
I went for a reassurance scan very early. 03/09/23 the GA was 6w 4d and the AUA was 5 weeks 1 day. Sac measuring 1.32cm. No no yolk was seen but they advised me that this was normal and all looked healthy. A rescan was booked for 10 days later.
10 days later they couldn't pick up any sign of baby or yolk sack via internal ultrasound, but the sac was still growing. It had grown to 2.82cm now putting the GA at 8w and AUA at 7w2d.
I was told that my pregnancy was nonviable.
They haven't checked my bloods as it was a privately booked scan and included a scan only.
They have referred me to hospital for them to investigate further but they weren't able to get me in until next week which seems so far away 😭
I know how bleak it looks right now. But is there anyway that the clinic may have got it wrong.
I did a pregnancy test on the 26/08 after being a week late for my period and it said I was 2-3 weeks. Which would have ment I conceived 10 days after my period around the time of ovulation. Which would put me at around 5 weeks and 4 days pregnant and at that stage it's normal to see a sac only.
So sorry to ramble on but the clinic couldn't give me any answers and I just don't understand.
If anyone has any knowledge at all that might help me understand, good or bad please do share this with me
Thankyou xx

Hi, I’m a midwife sonographer.

I’m so sorry but unfortunately a gestation sac with a mean sac diameter of >25mm with no visible yolk sac or fetal pole on TV scan does meet the diagnostic criteria for a missed miscarriage.

It’s a real shame that your local early pregnancy unit can’t see you sooner than next week. Have you tried contacting the maternity unit yourself to see if they can arrange anything sooner?

I hope you manage to get seen, take care of yourself 💐

Thankyou very much for your response, I really do appreciate it. I honestly thought as much but was still holding onto that little bit of hope. I've phoned my midwife who told me I had to call gynecology department to make an appointment. And next week was the soonest they had unfortunately. I just want it over and done with already. But I also understand they are super busy xx

I agree it’s awful that they can’t see you sooner. Sorry I don’t have any advice but I know how painful a MC is and wishing you all the best.

Thankyou, I am really struggling right now. But I'm sure it will become more bearable in time xx

After going for another TV scan today through the nhs they have found a fetal pole measuring around 5 weeks. No signs of a yolk sac though. The gestational sac measures 21mm.

The private scan i had was only 6 days ago and they appear to have everything very wrong.
Although the chances of this being a successful pregnancy seem very slim at the moment, there is still a little glimmer of hope.
