Hi.

I had an early scan today in EPU to confirm the pregnancy is in the right place ( due to some pain )

Anyway... im 5 weeks 3 days, they could see it in my uterus (yay)

However they could only see the gestational sac and yolk sac and no heart beat just yet.

I'm under the impression it's quite normal to not see more at this stage?

But I'm a worrier... please can someone tell me if they had similar xxx

You wouldn’t really expect to see a heartbeat until at least 6 weeks, some see it earlier but many are after 6 weeks

I had exactly that at my EPU placement scan at 5+3, I am now sat at work being kicked and punched in the belly by an almost 30 weeker. :)

Oh really? Yes she said it's what she expects for my gestation - only the gestational sac and yolk.... is that all yours could see then?

Yup, there was gestational sac and yolk and that was it. Sonographer was happy with that as it was all appropriate for the time and that was that. I did then book a private scan at 8 weeks or so as I wanted to see the heartbeat and epu was purely for placement so had discharged me. Private scan a few weeks later you could see what looked like a tiny gummy bear and heartbeat 😊
