Fell onto bump third trimester

I fell down two steps at 36 weeks, straight onto the side of my bump onto concrete. I wish I could turn back time. Didn’t have any chance to save myself as was holding hands with dd and carrying dd’s bag in the other. I immediately had awful pain go through my bump and it felt like the whole bump went rock hard. I went to hospital to be checked out, contractions/tightenings were every twenty minutes but disappeared after a few hours. During the observations the baby got hiccups for the first time. Quite large and rythmic. Midwife’s all say this is fine and normal. But I don’t feel like they are normal for this baby and I keep getting dismissed. Is it a coincidence that they started the same day I fell over? It’s hiccuped every day since and am starting to think I’ve caused the baby a head trauma or cerebral palsy so it’s muscles aren’t working correctly which is leading it to digest the amniotic fluid incorrectly and then causing the hiccups. I read that hiccups are less common after 33 weeks? Losing my mind over this every time the hiccups start every day. Currently 38+4. Did anyone else fall over late on and notice a change?

I'm sorry you're going through this, OP. I haven't experienced this, but I did fall, hard, onto my bump in the third trimester and all was fine. I hope it will be for you too. <flowers>

I had a bad fall onto my bump and my face and shoulder. Luckily I was outside the hospital on my way for a scan. Baby was fine and did start hiccups after that. Day after day until birth. I didn't think anything of it. She was born perfectly fine. I think that they were caused by her practice breathing and swallowing.

Hi coups are very normal. With all 3 of my babies I only started feeling them in the last bit, this pregnancy they only started in the last few days and I’m 34 weeks. The first and second babies had hiccups regularly up until they were born and both perfectly healthy. If you feel like something still isn’t right then absolutely push to be seen again. But try to trust the HCP
