Should I be worried?

Hi. I’m 18 weeks pregnant and I’m getting stressy that I’m not feeling any movement. I think for the past week I’ve felt the odd bubble and pop, when I’m laid on my back and being really still. Then I think it might just be wind or digestive activity. I do get quite a bit of trapped wind tho and it’s felt different to that. Yesterday however was a busy day, I was on my feet at work then at my sons football game, then at my mums for tea and asleep pretty much soon as I got home so no chance to notice anything. This morning I’ve laid on sofa for about 2.5 hours to see if I can feel anything but I’m just not sure if anything is happening.

I’m aware 18 weeks is a little early. This is my 4th pregnancy so expected to feel it early on, however it’s been 12 years since my last so I really can’t remember when it happened last time to compare. Also with it being so long between my last pregnancy and this one, do you think maybe that’s why it’s taking a little longer to feel movement? Like maybe my body has just reverted back and I’m this is like the first time all over again?

I had a scan at 16 weeks for reassurance and my placenta was anterior so I’m hoping that’s partly to blame for the lack of movement felt and all the worry it’s bringing.

Anyone else in a similar position or had a pregnancy so many years after their previous ones?

Also is it normal for early movement to be so sporadic and irregular with something felt some days but not others?

Really hoping Im just over thinking as usual.

Thanks.

It's very normal for early movement to be sporadic, especially with an anterior placenta - my first pregnancy was anterior, and I was amazed at how much more I felt in my second!

(So no, you shouldn't be worried 🙂)

Don't be worried. You're still early x

I'm 19 + 5 after a 10 year gap!
I've felt a few tiny 'maybe' kicks over the past few weeks but they could have been gas, I'm not sure where my placenta is either yet so I was getting worried about not feeling anything.
Anyway, on Saturday it all kicked off and now there's no mistaking the big kicks (especially the bladder kicks 😂).

So try not worry, maybe it is as we've had such big gaps in between pregnancies 😊
