Growth scan

Hi all, a couple of weeks ago I went to my midwife who said my bump was measuring above the 97th percentile. I had a growth scan today and she said I’m on the 30th percentile. They have booked me for another growth scan in 3 weeks. I am currently 34 weeks and 4 days pregnant. Has anyone else had this? Is there usually this much of a big drop from measuring bump to growth scan?

Hi OP. I wouldn't pay to much attention to growth scans. I had these regularly with my last DC and they were never accurate. DC was breech until I had an ECV at 38 weeks and so naturally my bump always measured bigger as her head was under my ribs. I had scans every other week for growth from around 26 weeks right up until the ECV, in fact the week before she arrived she was measuring almost 8lb going by the scan but was born at only 7lb 2oz.

When I had growth scans baby always measured lower than my bump measurement but was on track for what she should have been so there was never any cause for concern.

I don't agree that you shouldn't pay attention to growth scans. I had about 8 in total - because baby was measuring big on 20 week scan, rather than bump size, they actually never measured my bump once because of the scans. I was induced early due to large baby and growth scan predicted DS would be around 8lbs 7oz at just over 38 weeks. In reality the grown scan was inaccurate as he was nearer 10lbs!
