would severe nerve pain in my lower back and bum, every time the baby moves, indicate he/she could be back to back? So intense that it stops me in my tracks. It started yesterday..

I am a week overdue...

Could be, I had that trouble and she was lying on my sciatic nerve

Don't know, but if you are worried, I would spend as long as I can on all fours or on my knees with my bum in the air and my elbows on the floow

There are exercises and postures to try if you think your baby is back to back. Standing on all foors with bum up is one of them. You should ask your midwife.

if you lie down, is your belly button area dipped? that indicates back to back...

Just to reassure you that if it is back to back my DS was, and he was a big baby, and the birth was all fine and the pain was manageable with gas and air and pethidine. Didn't even know about back to back until after giving birth!

Also i had the most awful backache the whole day before my contractions started but it disappeared when they arrived, so it could be a sign things are moving along?
