Worried about medicines in first trimester... Anti-histamines, steroids and other chemicals

I'm 8 weeks pregnant and have become really anxious about exposing growing fetus to chemicals.

So before finding out I was pregant during the two week wait I had a spread out total of 4 alcoholic drinks. I took 4 doses of Ibroprofen for pain and a few loratadine anti histamines. I was luckerly taking pre-natal vitamins but as soon as I found out (4 weeks) I felt regretful about those other things.

I then became increasingly concerned about chemicals in make-up and cosmetics and have been trying to use more natural products and suncreams to avoid sodium benzoate and phonoxyethanol etc, though some of my make up still has phonoxyethanol in.

THEN... ANOYINGLY, possibly due to hormonal changes, an insect bite, new allergy, who knows what, I got rashes. The doctors don't know what it is and have prescribed piriton tablets and hydrocortisone cream as well as a hydrocortisone/ anti biotic cream. A few days in and these have not worked. They are now reccomending a course of oral steroids!!! I'm desperate to get rid of the rash as its uncomfortable and stressful but now very worried about the changing concoction of drugs I will be putting into my system at such early stages of pregancy.

This is my first pregnancy, hence the worry.

Not sure if I'm being over cautious or should avoid any more suggestions from the doctors? They have said all are usually safe in pregnancy. I would have just preferred to be au natural.

Any help, advice, suggestions, reassurance or concerns appreciated.
