my sister in law has been in hospital now for 3 days. Went in to be induced, she is 37 weeks because they say baby isn’t growing properly. No other problems with mum or baby.
my concerns are that the midwives start induction (pessary, gel) she contracts for hours, (looks like things are slowly moving) then midwives pause induction (take pessary out etc..) they say cos short staffed.
this has now happened twice over 3 days (Tuesday morning started). She’s exhausted!
second child, no previous complications, she’s a small woman herself.
my question is to any person who knows medical (ie) Dr midwife paediatrician. Is this right? I understand short staff etc BUT surely this is very risky to keep starting and stopping a labour??!!!! They want to do pessary again in the next hour. She wants to go home and let nature happen
