Miscarriage ??? - total limbo

hi everyone

I wonder if there’s anybody out there who can help, pls.

Going by LMP I am around 6 weeks pregnant. On Monday this week I started bleeding (when wiping). I have had pink, red and brown blood. Not heavy enough for a pad. I then lost what looked like dark pregnancy tissue/clot. I assumed I had miscarried (although no cramps) and my test lines had got lighter.

I tested again this morning as I am keen to get a bit of closure on this and it’s a much stronger positive line. I understand that it can take up to 3 weeks for hcg to leave my body but I didn’t think the line would get darker.

Does anybody have any experience with this or any advice please?

thanks so much

x

Hi there

i know exactly what you’re going through, as I miscarried last week at 6-7 weeks. When I miscarried the blood was bright red and dripping into the toilet like a heavy period, with lots of painful cramps, and the bleeding is still going on now but is brown. I began bleeding on Thursday night and by Sunday afternoon I tested negative after a private scan. Have you phoned the early pregnancy unit at your local hospital for advice? Mine were great but couldn’t fit me in for a scan for two weeks which is why we went private, as you say, I was in limbo and couldn’t take it any more!

Sending all my love to you, so sorry this is happening, I know exactly how you feel and it’s awful ❤️

Thank you so much for replying and I am
so sorry for your loss. There really isn’t a pain like it. I hope you’re able to grieve and find comfort in whatever you need to. No time frame on this.

I have called the EPU and am awaiting a call back. Just so strange that the test has now got so much darker xx

There absolutely isn’t, take care of yourself ❤️ And be kind to yourself (I need to take my own advice, haha!) Until you’re told otherwise you are still pregnant - hopefully they can fit you in for a scan soon and your mind can be put at rest. Are you currently still bleeding? Let work know and take time off if you need it for a pregnancy related illness. Crossing my fingers for you that it’s not a miscarriage 🤞🏻 💕

@AFireAtASeaParks thank you. I am just so confused. No longer bleeding as of today. The EPU said they’ll get back to me within 24 hours so we will see what they suggest! I had a miscarriage before in 2019 and was in A LOT of pain. This time I haven’t experienced any. I also bled for weeks after….

Us poor women really do go through it. Sending you lots of strength and love xx

I am really sorry to hear what you are going through @MrsCbabypls . Unfortunately I don't have any good advice but I'm going through the same thing at the moment so can give you a hand hold.
I got a positive test last week then had light brown/pink bleeding over the last week but now the tests are getting darker and I did a CB weeks test last night that had increased to 2-3 weeks?
I'm concerned about an ectopic pregnancy but the EPU just discounted it and said just to test again in 10 days.
It's so horrible feeling in limbo.

LavenderSweetPea · 08/09/2023 10:35

I hope you hear back from the EPU soon OP! At 6 weeks they should be able to get you in for a scan to see what's going on, but it sounds promising if you didnt have any cramps and the bleeding has stopped.

I had a heavy bleed at 8ish weeks accompanied by clots, it sounds a lot heavier than you're describing - definately needed a pad! But it tailed off after about 24 hours and I went to the EPU and baby was in there just fine. I'll be 18 weeks tomorrow so try to hold tight until you can get a scan.

MrsCbabypls · 08/09/2023 20:14

Thanks ladies. I had a scan this morning at the EPU and bloods taken too. I’ve had a complete miscarriage which I am relieved to not be in limbo anymore. And my HCG levels were less than 4. Although it is incredibly sad, I am pleased to have answers. Sending lots of love to you all. Being a woman is so difficult. I spent my entire late teens/early twenties avoiding pregnancy like the plague and now I’m the polar opposite xxx

So sorry to hear that was three car OP 😔 it's so hard isn't it. Totally feel what you mean, I also lived in fear of pregnancy when I was younger and then when I actually wanted a baby the road was anything but easy. Sending you lots of baby dust for the future x

I followed this thread and I was hoping that you just had some random bleeding. I’m so sorry to hear this OP. I had my second miscarriage in July, and while it was slightly easier than the first time, it was still so hard.

Take care of yourself. Xxxx

AFireAtASeaParks · 08/09/2023 23:21

Oh I’m so sorry to hear this @MrsCbabypls
I was really hopeful it was normal bleeding - take time for yourself and look after yourself, I’m sending so much love to you, I know how hard this is and I’m so sorry you are going through this ❤️
